Senior School Success in Maths
On Friday 8th June six S1 and S2 pupils, accompanied by Mrs Cluckie, attended the Scottish Mathematics Challenge Awards Ceremony at the new Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Glasgow.
In the Junior challenge, Saim Chaudhry, Matthew Urwin, and Liam Kearney achieved bronze awards. Max Vella and Stephanie Weir achieved silver awards and Louise McFadden achieved a gold award.
Thomas Hearns S5 who achieved a silver award in the Senior challenge was unable to attend.
The pupils were entertained by a lecture on the Platonic solids before joining award winners from a number of other schools for a delicious lunch, followed by the presentation of their certificates and the award of the Scottish Maths Challenge mugs!
The Mathematics department would like to congratulate the pupils on their achievements!
