Make a Difference
Aloysians never hesitate to go the extra mile to raise funds for important causes and that was demonstrated perfectly on the banks of Loch Hogganfield when the pupils took part in a sponsored ‘Onesie and Wellie Waddle’.
Getting up early on a chilly Saturday morning in autumn, Senior School pupils and Fr Banyard proudly waddled around Loch Hogganfield in onesies inspired by the likes of Scooby Doo and the Minions to raise donations for the College Children's Fund.
Everyone had a great time and over £500 has so far been donated towards the Holiday, which takes place in June, and gives Aloysians and staff the opportunity to take young people with additional needs on a fun-filled adventure in the Scottish Countryside.
The wonderful work of the Children’s Fund is also felt every Tuesday evening when pupil volunteers visit Corseford School in Renfrewshire and St Andrew’s School to play games and read to children with additional needs.
Ms Lawrie, who helps organise the Children's Fund, was full of praise for the pupils who took part, saying,
“I was hugely impressed with the efforts of pupils who gave their time and effort for such a worthwhile cause.”
“The Children’s Fund is an opportunity for our Senior School pupils to give of their time and talents for others and experience the challenges and rewards of caring for these wonderful young people.”
