Admissions Process

Admissions Process

"Each journey is unique to the individual child and family..."

Every child you see in a Green Blazer today has been through his or her own admissions journey.

Usually, applications should be submitted prior to the Entrance Assessment in January in order to secure your child's place the following term. However, depending on places available, we can accept applications throughout the year whether you are looking for your child to join us at the beginning of the school year in August or mid-term.

Each journey is unique to the individual child and family, however, here is a timeline to help you understand the general route from interest to admission.

Prospective parents and pupils are invited to attend our Open Evening.

Don't worry if you can't make Open Evening, as personalised tours are available at any time throughout the year.

Applications open for the following year. Bursary applications will have a deadline in this month and may vary each year.

Please note that all Bursary applications must be submitted in full by the deadline date in December, with all relevant documentation.

Green Blazer Story

Applicants from Primary 4 to Senior 6 must include the ‘Green Blazer Story’ - a short essay about themselves and what they hope to achieve in the Green Blazer - their hobbies and interests, favourite subjects and ambitions. This should be handwritten and as a guide should be no more than 500 words.

Additional Support

Please note, if your child has any additional support needs or supporting documentation, please include it with your application - it is very important to us that we meet the needs of every child.

Entrance Assessment

The Entrance Assessment for P2-S2 will be held on a Saturday in January (Saturday 27th January 2018 this year).

Kindergarten and Primary 1 assessments will be scheduled throughout January.

S3 - S6 will not sit a formal assessment.

Practice Papers

Practice Papers for Primary 7 to Senior 2 will be sent out with an acknowledgement of your application.

Please note that assessment dates are subject to change year on year.

Around this time we will also arrange for you and your child to meet with one of the senior management team, if you have not done so already, so that we can get to know you better.

Mid February

Offer letters, along with parental contracts, are sent out in late February. If you choose to accept an offer of a place at the College, please send back your signed parental contract along with the deposit sum by the date specified on your offer letter.

Your child will attend an Orientation Day at the College so that they know what to expect when they start at their new school. All new parents are invited to attend a New Parents Meeting, designed to welcome our new families into the Aloysian community.

Mid August

The first day of term arrives as your child marks the true beginning of his or her own Green Blazer story.
